COMMENDING HALANY upon the occasion of its
designation for special recognition by HABNET
Services Corporation

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary organizations it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend HALANY
upon the occasion of its designation for special recognition by HABNET
Services Corporation celebrated at its 12th Annual Gala, Shifting the
Paradigm: Moving from Spender to Investor, on Saturday, February 25,
2017, at Glen Terrace in Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, HALANY is the Haitian American Lawyers Association of New
York, a non-profit professional organization founded to promote and
encourage participation by Haitian Americans and other ethnic minorities
in the judicial and legal system; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations within the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend HALANY upon the occasion of its designation for special
recognition by HABNET Services Corporation; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to HALANY.
