HONORING James and Megan Morrell upon the occasion
of their designation as recipients of the Community
Advocate Award by To Life! on October 21, 2016

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor James and
Megan Morrell upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of
the Community Advocate Award by To Life!, to be celebrated at its 12th
Annual Pink Ball at the Hall of Springs, Saratoga Springs, New York, on
Friday, October 21, 2016; and

WHEREAS, For the past 18 years, the non-profit organization, To
Life! has strived to educate its community about breast cancer
detection, treatments and related health matters, as well as provide
support services to thousands of greater Capital Region breast cancer
patients, caregivers, family and friends; and

WHEREAS, To Life! is proud to recognize James and Megan Morrell for
their steadfast and unremitting commitment to providing support to
breast cancer patients/survivors; and

WHEREAS, Since 2014, James and Megan Morrell, owners of Destination
KIA in Albany, New York, have helped to bring awareness of this disease
which currently affects one in eight women in the United States; in
conjunction with the observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the
couple donates $100 to To Life! for every new KIA that is sold during
October; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor James and Megan Morrell upon the occasion of their designation as
recipients of the Community Advocate Award by To Life! on October 21,
2016; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to James and Megan Morrell.
