CONGRATULATING the Shenendehowa High School Girls'
3,200 Meter Relay Team and Coach Robert Cloutier
upon the occasion of winning the New York State
Championship

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the State of New York who, by
achieving outstanding success in athletic competition, have inspired and
brought pride to their school and community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the Shenendehowa High School Girls' 3,200 Meter Relay Team
and Coach Robert Cloutier upon the occasion of winning the New York
State Championship on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Ocean Breeze Track
and Field Athletic Complex, Staten Island, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Shenendehowa Plainsmen captured the New York State
Public High School Athletic Association Championship and the Federation
Championship with an outstanding time of 9:00 minutes flat, setting a
State meet record, a Section 2 record and a Shenendehowa record; and

WHEREAS, The talented scholar-athletes who make up the Shenendehowa
High School Girls' 3,200 Meter Relay Team include: First Leg Freshman,
Jade Dennis; Second Leg Junior, Olivia Lomascolo; Third Leg Senior,
Julia Zachgo who has committed to North Carolina State and will
participate in Cross Country and both Indoor and Outdoor Track and
Field; and Fourth Leg Junior, Hannah Reale; and

WHEREAS, After clinching the New York State Title, the Shenendehowa
High School Girls' 3,200 Meter Relay Team advanced to the New Balance
Nationals Indoor Track and Field Meet, where they placed 3rd with a
remarkable time of 9:08.85, granting them All-American status; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of green and white,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported the Plainsmen throughout their journey as they ended their
season with an impressive overall record; and

WHEREAS, Coach Robert Cloutier and these four outstanding athletes
have clearly utilized dedication, determination and teamwork in
providing a lasting contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of their school; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when athletes
of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention,
they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Shenendehowa High School Girls' 3,200
Meter Relay Team and Coach Cloutier on their outstanding season and
overall team record; and be it further


RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Shenendehowa High School Girls' 3,200
Meter Relay Team: Jade Dennis, Olivia Lomascolo, Julia Zachgo, and
Hannah Reale; Coach Robert Cloutier; Athletic Director Christopher
Culnan; and Superintendent Dr. Oliver Robinson.
