HONORING William J. Sitzman upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2017 Ambassador
of the Year Award by the Watkins Glen Area Chamber
of Commerce on January 20, 2018

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
William J. Sitzman upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2017 Ambassador of the Year Award by the Watkins Glen Area Chamber
of Commerce to be celebrated at its Winter Gala on Saturday, January 20,
2018, at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce serves over 450
members and continues to grow; its members include sole proprietors,
small businesses, home businesses, corporations, and non-profit
organizations; and

WHEREAS, The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce diligently works
to advance economic vitality by providing promotion, education, and
support for its members and community; the Chamber strives to be the
leading organization that meets the needs and exceeds the expectations
of its business community; and

WHEREAS, William J. Sitzman truly lives by the Chamber's mantra;
this long-time volunteer has continually demonstrated complete
dedication, investment, and leadership in both the Chamber and its
Ambassador Program; and

WHEREAS, William J. Sitzman has been a Chamber Ambassador for over a
year, and goes above and beyond the call of duty with great joy and
enthusiasm; he makes contact with his assigned list of member and
potential member referrals, and communicates with the Chamber's
Membership Service Manager; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which William J. Sitzman has
displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honoring William J. Sitzman upon the occasion of his designation as

recipient of the 2017 Ambassador of the Year Award by the Watkins Glen
Area Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to William J. Sitzman.
