COMMENDING Gary S. DeYoung upon the occasion of
his retirement after 21 years of distinguished
service to the Thousand Islands International
Tourism Council
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Gary S.
DeYoung upon the occasion of his retirement after 21 years of
distinguished service to the Thousand Islands International Tourism
Council; in 2018, he officially retired from his title of Executive
Director; and
WHEREAS, For over two decades, Gary S. DeYoung rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Thousand Islands International
Tourism Council; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as Executive Director, Gary S. DeYoung
diligently worked with communities in both the United States and Canada
to promote the region's beauty, recreational opportunities and other
tourist attractions to visitors from all over the world; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Gary S. DeYoung was governed by a
keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems;
he will truly be missed by the residents of the Thousand Island Region
for his tireless work, devotion and commitment to this spectacular part
of New York State; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Thousand Islands International
Tourism Council, Gary S. DeYoung earned the admiration, esteem and
affection of his colleagues; he has clearly had an enduring impact on
his community and accordingly merits recognition and applause for his
impressive dedication to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Gary S. DeYoung upon the occasion of his retirement after 21
years of distinguished service to the Thousand Islands International
Tourism Council, and to wish him continued success in all his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gary S. DeYoung.
