COMMENDING William C. Calderara upon the occasion
of being inducted into the 2019 SUNY New Paltz
School of Business Hall of Fame as Business Person
of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend William C. Calderara upon the occasion of being inducted into
the 2019 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame as Business
Person of the Year, to be celebrated with an Induction Ceremony on April
24, 2019, at the Grandview, Poughkeepsie, New York; and

WHEREAS, William C. Calderara currently serves as President and
Chief Executive Officer of Ulster Savings Bank; he has more than 25
years of banking experience and is a tremendous asset to his community;
and

WHEREAS, William C. Calderara was selected to serve in this esteemed
position by the Ulster Savings Board of Trustees and its former
President and CEO for his banking acumen and his expertise in, and
commitment to, community banking; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, he truly recognizes the importance of Ulster
Savings and other community banks' vital contributions to the regional
economy as well as local businesses, residents and nonprofit
organizations; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, William C. Calderara has
held numerous positions in financial services with increasing
responsibility in the areas of residential and consumer lending; he has
also held leadership positions in sales, IT, retail lending, and loan
administration; and

WHEREAS, William C. Calderara was recruited by Newtown Savings Bank
as chief lending officer in 2008, and was subsequently recruited to lead
Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan as CEO in September 2012; and

WHEREAS, Originally from Mount Vernon, New York, William C.
Calderara received his education at Fordham University and Iona College,
graduating with his bachelor's degree in business administration after
double majoring in accounting and computer science; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Patti, and their
three children, who have all shown him love and support and rejoice in
his many achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend William C. Calderara upon the occasion of being inducted into
the 2019 SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame as Business
Person of the Year; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to William C. Calderara.
