COMMENDING the Caribbean American Social Workers
Association upon the occasion of hosting "A
Community Conversation" in recognition of April
being National Autism Awareness Month
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Caribbean American Social Workers Association upon the
occasion of hosting "A Community Conversation" to be held at the
Flatbush Gardens Community Center, Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday,
April 6, 2019; and
WHEREAS, This notable forum is being held in recognition of National
Autism Awareness Month; the Brooklyn community is invited to share in
conversation and promote autism awareness, autism acceptance, and to
draw attention to the tens of thousands facing an autism diagnosis each
year; and
WHEREAS, Each April for the past five decades, National Autism
Awareness Month has elevated awareness and educated the public about
autism and issues within the autism community; and
WHEREAS, The Caribbean American Social Workers Association has been
in existence for the past 15 years; located in Brooklyn, this
organization provides the must needed social service guidance to
primarily the Caribbean community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Caribbean American Social Workers Association upon the
occasion of hosting "A Community Conversation" in recognition of April
being National Autism Awareness Month; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Caribbean American Social Workers Association.
