COMMENDING CAMBA upon the occasion of hosting its
Phenomenal Girls' Symposium on May 18, 2019
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals and organizations it wishes to
recognize for their valued contributions to the success and progress of
society and publicly acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the
basic humanity among us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend CAMBA upon
the occasion of hosting its Phenomenal Girls' Symposium to be celebrated
on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at SUNY Downstate School of Public Health,
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, CAMBA is a non-profit agency which provides services that
connect people with opportunities to enhance their quality of life; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization is a community of clients, staff,
volunteers, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an
inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to
the resources and supports they need to thrive; and
WHEREAS, With a tenacious and loyal staff, CAMBA serves clients of
every race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation and background,
and its programs are as diverse as the individuals served; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of its President and CEO Joanne
M. Oplustil, CAMBA sincerely embraces difference, respects all
viewpoints, and welcomes those from both around the corner and around
the globe; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, CAMBA listens to the communities it serves and
develops creative programs with demonstrated impact to respond to their
evolving needs; and
WHEREAS, There are few challenges greater than providing individuals
and families with the knowledge, tools and resources they need to
achieve self-sufficiency and to contribute to the well-being of their
communities; CAMBA provides diverse clients in Brooklyn and across New
York City with programs which truly add value to their lives; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history, CAMBA has demonstrated
continuous service to the residents and communities which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of CAMBA is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its dedicated Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the
community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to CAMBA; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend CAMBA upon the occasion of hosting its Phenomenal Girls'
Symposium on May 18, 2019; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Joanne M. Oplustil, President and CEO, CAMBA, Brooklyn,
New York.
