HONORING Lisa Good upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2019 Community
Champion Award by the Trinity Alliance of the
Capital Region on April 17, 2019

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lisa Good
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2019 Community
Champion Award by the Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region, celebrated
at its Annual Gala, "Time, Tradition, Trinity," on Wednesday, April 17,
2019, at the New York State Museum, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1912 by Episcopalian Pastor Reverend Creighton
Storey, Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region strives to provide
services to the community which will support and promote healthy
families, adults and children; this vital agency is dedicated to
improving the neighborhood as a setting for family life, contributing to
health and well-being, and promoting education and employment as a means
of self-development; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Good is receiving this prestigious award for her
steadfast and unremitting commitment to her profession and community;
through her due diligence, she has truly made the Capital Region a
better place for its residents to live, work and play; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Good earned her Bachelor of Science degree from
Skidmore College, and a Master of Social Work degree from SUNY Albany;
she received a Certificate in Urban Violence from SUNY Buffalo, and is
currently pursuing a Ph.D. in social welfare; and

WHEREAS, A recognized expert on substance use disorder treatment,
gun and communal violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, and
trauma, Lisa Good founded Urban Grief to provide education, counseling
and advocacy to victims of inner city violence; and

WHEREAS, Prior to this role, Lisa Good served as the Director of
Trinity Alliances' Homer Perkins Center and was the first Director of
SNUG 518 Albany; she has also provided trauma response training and
adverse childhood experience training to not only employees, but also
community members who are victims of gun violence, and who may be
incarcerated; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lisa Good upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2019 Community Champion Award by the Trinity Alliance of the Capital
Region on April 17, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lisa Good.
