HONORING Dr. Greg Dewey upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2019 Community
Champion Award by the Trinity Alliance of the
Capital Region on April 17, 2019
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those individuals within the medical field who
distinguish themselves through professional excellence and who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life of citizens in the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr. Greg
Dewey upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2019
Community Champion Award by the Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region,
celebrated at its Annual Gala, "Time, Tradition, Trinity," on Wednesday,
April 17, 2019, at the New York State Museum, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1912 by Episcopalian Pastor Reverend Creighton
Storey, Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region strives to provide
services to the community which will support and promote healthy
families, adults and children; this vital agency is dedicated to
improving the neighborhood as a setting for family life, contributing to
health and well-being, and promoting education and employment as a means
of self-development; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Greg Dewey is receiving this prestigious award for his
steadfast and unremitting commitment to his profession and community;
through his due diligence, he has truly made the Capital Region a better
place for its residents to live, work and play; and
WHEREAS, As President of the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health
Sciences, Dr. Greg Dewey was instrumental in launching The
Collaboratory, a neighborhood-based approach to health care delivery;
through partnerships with Trinity Alliance Community Health Workers and
the Public Health Pharmacy Team, this visionary program promotes health
literacy, medication education and adherence, and access to health
insurance and primary care; and
WHEREAS, Located on the ground floor at 3 Lincoln Square, the
3,000-square-foot facility, whose space has been donated by the Albany
Housing Authority, will serve as a healthcare hub for more than 9,000
South End residents, many of whom have unmet medical needs; and
WHEREAS, As a leader in his profession, Dr. Greg Dewey has proven
himself to be a great asset to medicine and to the health and welfare of
the citizens of the State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Greg Dewey upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2019 Community Champion Award by the Trinity Alliance of the
Capital Region on April 17, 2019; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Greg Dewey.
