CONGRATULATING the Shenendehowa High School Boys
Varsity Swimming and Diving Team upon the occasion
of being ranked No. 1 in New York State by the
National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Shenendehowa High School Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving Team upon the
occasion of being ranked No. 1 out of 22 schools in New York State by
the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) in the
Large School Category (950+ student body); and

WHEREAS, During the 2018-2019 season, the Shenendehowa High School
Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving Team scored 5,316 points, broke school
records in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay, and
won the Watkins Glen Invitational; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of green and white,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported the Plainsmen throughout their journey as they ended their
regular season with an impressive overall record of 11-0; and

WHEREAS, In sports such as swimming and diving, which demands
athletic prowess, speed and agility, Head Coach Chuck Dunham, Diving
Coach Dennis Hogan, and Assistant Swim Coach Ryan Gordan worked hard to
hone the skills of this championship team, teaching these outstanding
athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both in and out of the
pool; and

WHEREAS, Head Coach Chuck Dunham and all of the outstanding athletes
on the Shenendehowa High School Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving Team
have clearly utilized dedication, determination and teamwork in
providing a lasting contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of their school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Shenendehowa High School Boys Varsity
Swimming and Diving Team: Mike Catanzaro, Jonathan Eisnor, Frank
Harnisher, Ryan Katinas, Mason Lacosse, Michael Leonard, Christopher
Mace, Logan Schohn, Brian Miller, Zack Lassetter, Kaleb Hotaling,
Jackson Homan, James Jordan, Quinten De Man, Colin Fitzgerald, Shrujay
Rompicherla, Jinwook Lee, Alex Fabris, Nate Constable, Erik Herrero,
Yang Foon, Lance Meeson, Devin Herbinger, Xavier Silaika, Chenxu Xiang,

Eric Scott, and Jaden Homan; Head Coach Chuck Dunham; Diving Coach
Dennis Hogan, and Assistant Swim Coach Ryan Gordan upon the occasion of
being ranked No. 1 in New York State; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Shenendehowa High School Boys Varsity
Swimming and Diving Team, Head Coach Chuck Dunham, Diving Coach Dennis
Hogan, and Assistant Swim Coach Ryan Gordan.
