COMMENDING Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime upon the occasion
of being named a 2019 Hall of Fame Honoree by Making
the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall
of Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc., to be
celebrated at its 8th Annual Power of Partnerships, Scholarship and Hall
of Fame Gala on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the BRIC Arts Media, Brooklyn,
New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
(MIPO) is a non-profit membership organization, promoting the quality of
life of Haitian youth in the United States and abroad through education,
music, character building, medical care, apprenticeship training, family
support and scholarships; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime founded the Haitian American Veterans
Association in 2007; he currently serves as President of this vital
organization which, under his able leadership, has become a true fixture
in Veterans communities within the United States and overseas; and

WHEREAS, Born on September 4, 1957, in Haiti, Fritz Fils-Aime moved
to New York City with his family where he attended elementary school at
Sacred Heart and high school at St. Pascal's; after his honorable
discharge from the military, he went on to receive many degrees which
culminated with a Doctorate degree in Naturopathy; and

WHEREAS, Active in his community, Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime has worked
with the Haitian American United for Progress (HAUP) where he taught
English as a Second Language (ESL) for many years; he was then hired as
a job developer, rehabilitating Haitians in their new environments and
helping them find employment; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime is a member of the New York City
Medical Reserve Corporation, Manhattan Campus Veterans Advisory Council,
Disabled Veterans of America, and the "Where There Is No Dentist
Program"; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his work within the community, Dr. Fritz
Fils-Aime has worked in the dental field as a Soft Tissue Management
Specialist for 30 years; he has become an expert in the curing of
periodontal disease, and has established himself as a leader, setting up
mobile clinics in Haiti, where he offers a conventional and a holistic
approach to help heal a sick population; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime upon the occasion of being named a 2019 Hall
of Fame Honoree by Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. on May 26, 2019;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Fritz Fils-Aime.
