HONORING Zach Ludewig upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Pre-Hospital Save
Award by the East Meadow Fire Department

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those individuals within the State of New York who, in
the course of their jobs, perform acts of heroic dimension; and

WHEREAS, It is the further sense of this Legislative Body to
recognize the first responders who perform their duties, assisting
others in a calm and comforting manner in moments of high stress and
turmoil; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Zach Ludewig upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Pre-Hospital Save Award by the East Meadow Fire Department on May 19,
2019; and

WHEREAS, Zach Ludewig, a First Responder with the East Meadow Fire
Department, successfully resuscitated a patient who was clinically dead;
and

WHEREAS, The patient survived with a restoration of vital signs and
was transferred to the Emergency Department; and

WHEREAS, In the performance of his duties, Zach Ludewig demonstrated
his character as well as his compassion for the welfare of others; he is
truly an asset to the East Meadow Fire Department and a distinguished
citizen of the State and Nation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Zach Ludewig upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Pre-Hospital Save Award by the East Meadow Fire Department; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Zach Ludewig.
