Senate Resolution No. 1757

HONORING Willie June upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the CYO Troy
Youth Association, Inc. on June 6, 2019

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Willie June has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Willie June
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the CYO
Troy Youth Association, Inc. to be celebrated at its 15th Annual William
J. Pascarell Person of the Year Event on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at the
Italian Community Center, Troy, New York; and

WHEREAS, Willie June has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Actively involved with the CYO basketball program for 30
years, Willie June is a long time respected official who has dedicated
his talents to this vital program, working with the youth not only on
the court, but in clinics for those who wanted to aspire to be better
adults; and

WHEREAS, Willie June, who will be retiring this year, is a true
reflection of the CYO Troy Youth Association's mission of developing
youth into responsible adults; he has positively impacted the lives of
countless local youth and will be missed by all those lucky enough to
have worked with him; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Willie June has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Willie June has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Willie June, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Willie June upon the occasion of his designation for special

recognition by the CYO Troy Youth Association, Inc. on June 6, 2019; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Willie June.
