CONGRATULATING Carol Conslato upon the occasion of
her retirement after 40 years of distinguished
service to Con Edison
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Carol Conslato upon the occasion of her retirement after 40
years of distinguished service to Con Edison; she will officially retire
from the esteemed position of Director of Queens Public Affairs on June
26, 2019; and
WHEREAS, As Director of Queens Public Affairs for Con Edison, Carol
Conslato is responsible for community and government relations; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious career, which traversed four
decades, Carol Conslato held key management positions at Con Edison in
Corporate Planning, Energy Efficiency and Economic Development; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Carol Conslato recently finished a three-year term as
President of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, which represents over 1,200
business members throughout the borough; in 2011, she was appointed by
Governor Cuomo to serve on the New York City Regional Economic
Development Council representing Queens, and is on the Council's
executive committee; and
WHEREAS, In addition to the Chamber, Carol Conslato is Vice
President of the Long Island City Partnership, and serves on the boards
of Flushing Town Hall and the Flushing Willets Point Corona Development
Corporation; and
WHEREAS, Carol Conslato has been the proud recipient of numerous
awards and accolades, including the United States' Small Business
Administration's Financial Advocate Award, the Boy Scouts Presidential
Award, the Jefferson Democratic Club's Public Service Award and the
NAACP's Robert Garvin Award; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, she was named Woman of the Year by the Queen's
Courier and was honored by the Queens Tribune; the Italian Heritage
Committee also recognized Carol Conslato for her contributions to the
community; and
WHEREAS, Carol Conslato, who was born in Southeast Queens, remains a
dedicated advocate of the borough and Queensborough Community College
(QCC); she was elected to the QCC Fund Board of Directors in 1999, and
has previously served as the Treasurer and Chair; and
WHEREAS, For the past 40 years, Carol Conslato rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Con Edison, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Carol Conslato over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Carol Conslato upon the occasion of her retirement after 40
years of distinguished service to Con Edison; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Carol Conslato.
