COMMENDING Thomas Daley, Esq. upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the Daniel Mahoney
Memorial Award by the Capital District Trial Lawyers
Association on June 19, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Thomas Daley, Esq. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Daniel Mahoney Memorial Award by the Capital District
Trial Lawyers Association to be celebrated at its Annual Dinner and
Meeting on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Italian American Community
Center, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Each year, this auspicious award is presented in memory of
the founder of the Capital District Lawyer's Association to an attorney
for demonstrating outstanding commitment and service to his or her
clients, the bar and profession, and to the perpetuation of the work of
the Shirt Sleeve Lawyer; and

WHEREAS, Since joining Maynard, O'Connor, Smith & Catalinotto LLP in
1981, and becoming a partner in 1986, Thomas Daley has become one of its
top litigators; his experience in defense litigation includes cases
involving catastrophic injury, product liability, municipal law, and
property damage; and

WHEREAS, Additionally, he handles estate litigation, professional
liability law, and business/commercial litigation; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Thomas Daley's
representation of professionals has included successful license defense
before the New York State Department of Health Office of Professional
Medical Conduct and the New York State Department of Education Office of
the Professions; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Thomas Daley has successfully defended medical
professionals in the fields of anesthesiology, cardiology,
cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, dermatology, gastroenterology,
general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, otolaryngology,
radiology, and urology; and

WHEREAS, Admitted to practice in the State of New York and the U.S.
District Court for the Northern District of New York, Thomas Daley
received his undergraduate degree from Canisius College and his law
degree from Albany Law School; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
profession, Thomas Daley is a member of the Albany County and New York

State Bar Associations and belongs to the Torts, Negligence &
Compensation; Trial Lawyers; and Trusts and Estates Sections of the
state bar; he is also a member of the Capital District Trial Lawyers
Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is a past
president of the Northeast New York Defense Research Institute; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Daley is active in the Bethlehem community, where he
has coached youth soccer and softball, and previously served as
president of the St. Thomas School Parents Association; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Thomas Daley has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Thomas Daley, Esq. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Daniel Mahoney Memorial Award by the Capital District
Trial Lawyers Association; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Thomas Daley, Esq.
