CONGRATULATING Morgan Malush upon the occasion of
being crowned the New York State Gymnastics Champion
in the Junior E Division on March 17, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding athletes who distinguish themselves through their
exceptional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest
level of personal achievement; and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Morgan Malush upon the occasion of being crowned the New York State
Gymnastics Champion in the Junior E Division; to the praise and applause
of her excited fans, she won the all-around title with an impressive
overall score of 37.90; and

WHEREAS, Morgan Malush was also the New York State Champion on the
uneven bars with a 9.60 and the balance beam with a 9.875; she placed
second on the vault with a 9.225, and third on the floor exercise with a
9.20; and

WHEREAS, With this momentous victory, and through her diligent
efforts and hard work, Morgan Malush qualified as a member of the Super
7 Xcel Gold Team which competed against the top gymnastics in Region 6
at the Regional Championships held in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, in May
of 2019; and

WHEREAS, An eighth grader at Veronica E. Connor Middle School in
Grand Island, New York, Morgan Malush has proven to be an unbeatable
combination of talents, reflecting favorably on her family, her school
and community; and

WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by Morgan Malush is due in
great part to the efforts of her coaches at Stumpfs Gymnastics Center in
Williamsville, New York; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to commend Morgan Malush for
her extraordinary athletic accomplishments which are a tribute to her
skill, dedication and commitment; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Morgan Malush upon the occasion of being crowned the New
York State Gymnastics Champion in the Junior E Division on March 17,
2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Morgan Malush.
