CONGRATULATING the Candor Girls Volleyball Team
upon the occasion of capturing the New York State
Public High School Athletic Association Class D
Championship

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare achievements
and pays special recognition to those who pursue such excellence and
become examples for the youth of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Candor Girls Volleyball Team upon the occasion of capturing the New York
State Public High School Athletic Association Class D Championship on
Sunday, November 24, 2019, in Glens Falls, New York; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the
Indians were able to surmount their opponents in the New York State
Championship match and achieve the utmost high school sporting
accomplishment in this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, The Candor Indians ended a very successful season finishing
a perfect 22-0 and capped their historic season off with a 3-0 clean
sweep of Section 6 Champion Panama to secure the Class D New York State
Girls Volleyball Championship; and

WHEREAS, These are not uncharted waters for the Candor Indians
Volleyball Program, who also won back to back New York State
Championships in 2002, and 2003, further showing the dedication and
drive that the Candor Indians Girls Volleyball Program has year in and
year out; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as Volleyball, which demands athletic
prowess, unparalleled quickness and agility, as well as exceptional
teamwork, Head Coach Pam Quinlan and her expert coaching staff worked
hard to hone the skills of this championship team, teaching these
outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both on and off
the court; and

WHEREAS, Coach Quinlan and all the outstanding athletes on the
Candor High School Girls Volleyball Team have clearly utilized
dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Candor High School Girls Volleyball
Team: Kadrianna Foster, Addison Aman, Asia Curkendall, Kori Strong,
Brooke Wilcox, Selah Ray, Teagan Bartlow, Shelby Swartz, Jennah Kareem,
Braelyn Hornick, Isabel Makie, Brayden Watkins, Megan Henry, Arianna

Aman, Kailyn Edwards; Head Coach Pam Quinlan and Assistant Coaches
Michael Swartz, and Brittney Noble on their outstanding season and
overall team record of 22-0; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Candor High School Girls Volleyball
Team, Head Coach Pam Quinlan, Assistant Coaches Michael Swartz and
Brittney Noble.
