Senate Resolution No. 2326

COMMENDING Class of 2020 Salutatorian Hammad Izhar
of Floral Park Memorial High School, in recognition
of his outstanding accomplishments

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, the
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Class of 2020 Salutatorian Hammad Izhar of Floral Park Memorial
High School, in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Hammad Izhar, with a 103.3 GPA, scored a 1530 on his SAT
and attained a perfect score on the Math II and Biology Subject Tests;
and

WHEREAS, This exceptional young man is enrolled in the district's
Instrumentation and Automation Program, where he is a student in the
Physics "C" curriculum and will sit for the advanced placement exam in
that subject in June of 2020; and

WHEREAS, Additionally, Hammad Izhar is the sitting President of the
Science Olympiads, where he has competed and placed numerous times in
Experimental Design, Thermodynamics, Circuit Lab, Anatomy and
Physiology, and Chemistry Lab; and

WHEREAS, Hammad Izhar has also been conducting science research for
the past five years at Floral Park Memorial, including the project "The
Pappus Chain and the Triple EEE Threat: Biodiversity of Culex and
Culiseta Mosquitoes in Floral Park"; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Hammad Izhar is a member of the school's
Chamber Orchestra, indoor percussion performing group and the Model UN
Team; and

WHEREAS, Salutatorian Hammad Izhar represents the best of developed
potential inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; his
achievements have brought enduring honor to both his family and his
community and should be recognized and saluted; and

WHEREAS, Salutatorian Hammad Izhar may now stand with pride as he
assesses his achievements, experiences the satisfaction of his labors
and the joys of his accomplishments, eager to face the new experiences
of a challenging world; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Class of 2020 Salutatorian Hammad Izhar of Floral Park Memorial
High School, in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hammad Izhar.
