COMMENDING Class of 2020 Salutatorian Marvia
Pressoir of Elmont Memorial High School, in
recognition of her outstanding accomplishments

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, the
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Class of
2020 Salutatorian Marvia Pressoir of Elmont Memorial High School, in
recognition of her outstanding accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Marvia Pressoir, with a 101.29 GPA, has achieved impressive
accomplishments and discoveries in science research; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary young woman has worked within the
Molecular Pharmacology Department at the Albert Einstein College of
Medicine, researching topics such as neurological surgery and
microbiology; and

WHEREAS, Additionally, Marvia Pressoir is a Member of National,
World Language, Science, Rho Kappa, Alpha Theta and Tri-M honor
societies; and

WHEREAS, Marvia Pressoir continually cast a positive impact on her
school and community as an avid member of the Superintendent's Advisory
Council and Leading Ladies of Elmont; and

WHEREAS, Salutatorian Marvia Pressoir represents the best of
developed potential inherent in our most precious resource, our youth;
her achievements have brought enduring honor to both her family and her
community and should be recognized and saluted; and

WHEREAS, Salutatorian Marvia Pressoir may now stand with pride as
she assesses her achievements, experiences the satisfaction of her
labors and the joys of her accomplishments, eager to face the new
experiences of a challenging world; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Class of 2020 Salutatorian Marvia Pressoir of Elmont Memorial
High School, in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Marvia Pressoir.
