CONGRATULATING Carly Yezzo upon the occasion of
representing the United States of America in the
International Chaine Des Rotisseurs Young Chef
Competition

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community and their profession; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Carly Yezzo upon the occasion of representing the United States of
America in the International Chaine Des Rotisseurs Young Chef
Competition to be held in 2020; and

WHEREAS, Carly Yezzo, a senior at SUNY Delhi in Delhi, New York,
successfully qualified for the prestigious Chaine Des Rotisseurs Young
Chef Competition in June of 2019 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding young chef warranted high praise when she
won the Best Dessert Trophy, the only award presented for an individual
dish in the competition; and

WHEREAS, For her award-winning dessert, Carly Yezzo prepared a
pistachio cake with lime semifreddo, maple caramel sauce, and fresh
fruit to the enjoyment of the judges; and

WHEREAS, Due to her success in the national competition, Carly Yezzo
will represent the United States of America at the Chaine Des
Rotisseurs, which is the world's oldest international gastronomic
society; the young chef competition promotes the culinary expertise of
young chefs under the age of 27; and

WHEREAS, At age 21, Carly Yezzo was one of the youngest competitors
in nationals this year, further showing her dedication and drive; and

WHEREAS, Such high accomplishments are not unheard-of for the SUNY
Delhi culinary arts program; in the last decade students have won more
than 500 individual and team medals, including multiple American
Culinary Federation state, regional, and national titles; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend
individuals of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and
commitment toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and
acting as role models of leadership to be emulated by both peers and
young people; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Carly Yezzo upon the occasion of representing the United
States of America in the International Chaine Des Rotisseurs Young Chef
Competition, and wishing her the best of luck; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Carly Yezzo.
