LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Burnt
Hills-Ballston Lake Girls Volleyball Team and Head
Coach Gary Bynon upon the occasion of capturing the
New York State Class A Championship on November 24,
2019

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Girls Varsity Volleyball Team upon the
occasion of capturing the 2019 New York State Class A Championship with
an impressive 25-17, 26-24, 25-22 victory over West Irondequoit High
School on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens
Falls, New York; and

WHEREAS, The team has now won their seventh state volleyball
championship, and demonstrated their superlative teamwork, tying the
state record by winning their 18th consecutive regional championship
this season; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of maroon and white,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported the Spartans throughout their journey as the team compiled an
outstanding overall record of 32-5; and

WHEREAS, The hallmarks of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Girls
Varsity Volleyball Team, from the opening game of the season to
participation in the championship, were a sisterhood of athletic
ability, of good sportsmanship, of honor and of scholarship,
demonstrating that these team players are second to none; and

WHEREAS, Coach Gary Bynon and all of the outstanding athletes on the
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Girls Varsity Volleyball Team have clearly
utilized dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Girls Varsity
Volleyball Team: Morgan Bohlke, Sofia Pawlusik, Soph Rowny, Hannah
Shell, Alex Ayers, Micaela Choi, Haileigh Deming, Claire Isaksen, Ella
Katz, Olivia Tassone, Samantha Versocki, Callie Chevalier, Kiera
Hartpence, Carlie Rzeszotarski, Jenna Vaughan; and Head Coach Gary Bynon
on their outstanding season and overall team record; and be it further


RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Girls
Volleyball Team, Head Coach Gary Bynon and his staff, Athletic Director
Joe Scalise, Principal Timothy Brunson and Superintendent Patrick
McGrath, Jr.
