CONGRATULATING the Jericho High School Boys Soccer
Team upon the occasion of capturing the New York
State Class A Boys Soccer Championship

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical
development of the young people of this State, preparing them for the
future by instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a
standard of healthy living, imparting a desire for success and
developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Jericho High School Boys Soccer Team upon the occasion of capturing the
New York State Class A Boys Soccer Championship held on Sunday, November
17, 2019 in Middletown, New York; and

WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great
part to the efforts of Coach Dani Braga and Assistant Coach Jim Whelan,
as well as a team of outstanding assistant coaches, skilled and
inspirational tutors, respected for their ability to develop potential
into excellence; and

WHEREAS, All teams winning a State Championship in New York have
displayed the dedication, commitment and teamwork required to reach the
highest level of success; beginning the season with the goal of claiming
the utmost high school sporting accomplishment, the Jericho Jayhawks
have achieved this milestone; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the
Jericho Jayhawks were able to surmount their opponents to become the New
York State Class A Boys Soccer Champions; and

WHEREAS, The team's overall record is outstanding, and the team was
loyally and enthusiastically supported by family, fans, friends and the
community at large; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as soccer, which demands athletic prowess,
speed and agility, and mental toughness, Head Coach Dani Braga and his
expert coaching staff worked hard to hone the skills of this
championship team, teaching these outstanding athletes lessons which
will prove invaluable both on and off the pitch; and

WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, the team members have proven
themselves to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting
favorably on their school; and

WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride
and accomplishment, and Coach Dani Braga and his outstanding athletes

have clearly made a contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of their school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Jericho High School Boys Soccer Team:
Matthew Rothstein, Anthony Cammisull, Austin Brown, Jordan Miller
(Captain), Ari Chananya, Joey Kozohar, Jack Nelson, Jack Medolla, Jason
D'Costa, Paolo Martino (Captain), Marcos Yang, Austin Chen, Nicholas
Pinto, Andrew Russo, Rohan Bhasin, Klan Ghazvini, Adriano Greco, Matthew
Lefkowitz, Max Kluzek, Ryan Berger, Ari Kantorowitz, Joseph Carone, Jake
Liu, David Blumberg, Jake Cohen, Casey Levy, Rocco Fierro, Luke Citron,
Nick Grieco, Jake Levy, Dylan Snyder, Michael Xie; Assistant Coach Jim
Whelan and Head Coach Dani Braga on their extraordinary season and
overall team record; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Jericho High School Boys Soccer Team,
Assistant Coach Jim Whelan, and Head Coach Dani Braga.
