CONGRATULATING the entire 4th grade class of
Success Academy Flatbush upon the occasion of 100%
Passing the 2019 New York State Math & ELA Exams

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
entire 4th grade class of Success Academy Flatbush upon the occasion of
100% Passing the 2019 New York State Math & ELA Exams to be celebrated
at the Class of 2032 Award's Ceremony on Friday, January 31, 2020, at
the Brooklyn Children's Museum, Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, The students took the New York State Math & ELA tests in
2019 when they were in the third grade; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2006 and authorized by the State University of
New York's Charter School Institute, Success Academy Charter Schools is
the largest and highest-performing free, public charter school network
in New York City; and

WHEREAS, Admission is open to all New York State children, including
those with special needs and English Language Learners; in addition,
students are admitted by a random lottery held each April; and

WHEREAS, Success Academy operates 45 schools serving 17,000 students
in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx; across the network, 76% of
the students are from low-income households; 8.5% are current and former
English Language Learners, and 15% are current and former special needs
students; and

WHEREAS, These students have distinguished themselves as young boys
and girls of superlative ability, establishing a high standard of
academic excellence and purposefulness of life rarely achieved in
youthful years; and

WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, the
4th grade class of Success Academy Flatbush now stands honorably, with
just pride in their accomplishments and in eager anticipation of future
challenges, understanding and appreciating the caring counsel and
support provided by their teachers and parents; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the entire 4th grade class of Success Academy Flatbush upon
the occasion of 100% Passing the 2019 New York State Math & ELA Exams,
and best wishes for their futures of purposeful success and well-being;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to 4th grade class of Success Academy Flatbush.
