CONGRATULATING Coach Michael Chiapparelli upon the
occasion of being inducted into the New York State
Baseball Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding citizens who distinguished themselves in their lifetime
through their exceptional performance, and who attained unprecedented
success and the highest level of personal achievement; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Coach Michael "Chap" Chiapparelli upon the occasion of
being inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame, on Sunday,
November 3, 2019, at an awards ceremony held in Troy, New York; and

WHEREAS, Coach Michael Chiapparelli began coaching the Mamaroneck
High School Baseball Team in 1985; and

WHEREAS, In his tenure with the baseball program, Coach Michael
Chiapparelli has produced three New York State Class AA Baseball
Championships, the highest accomplishment in all of New York High School
Sports; and

WHEREAS, Coach Michael Chiapparelli involves many special education
students with his sports teams and in his capacity as the physical
education teacher at Mamaroneck High School; and

WHEREAS, Far exceeding his job responsibilities, Coach Michael
Chiapparelli has also served as birthday party facilitator for hundreds
of students over the years, and has hosted "Chappy Prom", affectionately
named after him, for his baseball team members who have historically had
to miss traditional prom due to playoffs; and

WHEREAS, A true pillar and legend in his community, Michael
Chiapparelli is also a bartender in town on weekends at the Larchmont
Tavern; he attracts athletes from throughout the region for his coaching
expertise; and

WHEREAS, The Mamaroneck High School Baseball Team is traditionally a
powerhouse due to the wealth of knowledge provided by Coach Mike
Chiapparelli; and

WHEREAS, Revered by his peers throughout the State, Coach Michael
Chiapparelli, is the epitome of an educator and teacher; all of the
young athletes, past and present, who were a part of the Mamaroneck
Baseball Program embrace his vast knowledge of the game in any capacity
they can; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Coach Michael Chiapparelli
has shown to not only the Mamaroneck High School Baseball Program but to
the Mamaroneck Union Free School District at large; his commitment to
bettering the lives and skills of all those who he has coached, is truly

exemplary and shall be applauded by all the citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Coach Michael Chiapparelli upon the occasion of being
inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame, and to wish him
many more years of success with the Mamaroneck High School Baseball
Program; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Coach Michael Chiapparelli.
