CONGRATULATING F. Anthony Keating upon the
occasion of his retirement after 24 years of
distinguished service as Civilian Aide to the
Secretary of the Army of New York, North

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate F. Anthony Keating upon the occasion of his retirement
after 24 years of distinguished service as Civilian Aide to the
Secretary of the Army of New York, North; and

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; F. Anthony Keating is one such
individual; and

WHEREAS, In 1995, Major General David C. Meade, Commander of the
10th Mountain Division, nominated F. Anthony Keating to serve as
Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) of New York, North;
and

WHEREAS, F. Anthony Keating was appointed to this esteemed position
by then Secretary of the Army Togo D. West; and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, F. Anthony Keating was responsible for
promoting good relations between the Army and the public, advising the
United States Secretary of the Army on regional issues and representing
the Secretary of the Army; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his fellow
veterans, F. Anthony Keating worked tirelessly in this volunteer
position, advocating for soldiers, attending ceremonies and other events
on behalf of the Secretary of the Army, and helping to support soldiers
and their families; and

WHEREAS, Prior to his 12 terms of dedicated service as a CASA, F.
Anthony Keating worked as the leader of the Fort Drum Regional Liaison
Organization where he was instrumental in its tremendous growth; and

WHEREAS, A 1966 graduate of the ROTC program at Notre Dame
University, F. Anthony Keating proudly served his country for nine
years as a member of the United States Army; during this time, he spent
one year defending his Nation during the Vietnam War at the Port of
Saigon and in Cat Lai, where he worked in an armory; and

WHEREAS, F. Anthony Keating possesses a passion for supporting
members of our military that is unmatched and as such, has made a

tremendous, positive difference through his role as Civilian Aide to the
Secretary of the Army of New York, North; and

WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with
whom he worked, F. Anthony Keating will be remembered for his honesty,
integrity, keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique grasp of
human problems in his official acts; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which F. Anthony Keating has
displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate F. Anthony Keating upon the occasion of his retirement
after 24 years of distinguished service as Civilian Aide to the
Secretary of the Army of New York, North; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to F. Anthony Keating.
