COMMENDING Carol Rainson-Rose upon the occasion of
being named a 2018-2019 National Coach of the Year
by the National Federation of State High School
Coaches Association

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to commend notable educators and
athletic coaches who serve the youth of this great Empire State and who
have distinguished themselves and their schools through outstanding
commitment and exemplary athletic achievement; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Carol Rainson-Rose upon the occasion of being named a 2018-2019
National Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High
School Coaches Association; and

WHEREAS, Carol Rainson-Rose is receiving this prestigious award for
her exceptional coaching record, affiliation with coaching and other
professional organizations, community involvement, and coaching
philosophy; and

WHEREAS, For over 30 years, Carol Rainson-Rose has been a physical
education teacher at Northport High School; a talented lacrosse player
in both high school and college, she introduced her favorite sport to
the school in 1990; and

WHEREAS, As coach, Carol Rainson-Rose led the Tigers to numerous
Suffolk County Championships, Long Island Championships, and two New
York State Championships in 2011 and 2019; under her able leadership,
the team was named the LIMLF Founders Club Champions Best Team in
Suffolk County in 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2019; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her most recent honor, Carol Rainson-Rose
was recognized as both the Newsday All Long Island Coach of the Year and
Suffolk County Coach of the Year Class A multiple times; and

WHEREAS, Carol Rainson-Rose has always strived to provide character
building growth opportunities in an athletic setting while fostering
skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and good decision-making
skills; she truly believes every child is a unique individual with
unlimited potential and has the ability to succeed and thrive through
athletic participation; and

WHEREAS, Carol Rainson-Rose's positive demeanor, selfless
commitment, and caring concern have contributed to her enduring success
as a coach and mentor, earning her the just respect and admiration of
her community, her peers, and the athletes she has so ably coached; and

WHEREAS, With her unremitting commitment to the Northport Lacrosse
Team, Carol Rainson-Rose is the quintessential selection as Coach of the
Year; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Carol Rainson-Rose upon the occasion of being named a 2018-2019
National Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High
School Coaches Association; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Carol Rainson-Rose.
