HONORING Clarence Pharmacy upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the Small Business
of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce on March 5, 2020

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
small businesses within the State of New York which contribute to the
economic health and vitality of the communities they serve; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Clarence Pharmacy upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the Small Business of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its 48th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday,
March 5, 2020, at Samuel's Grande Manor, Williamsville, New York; and

WHEREAS, Clarence Pharmacy is receiving this prestigious award for
its steadfast and unremitting commitment to its beloved community of
Clarence, New York; and

WHEREAS, Clarence Pharmacy officially opened its doors to the public
in August of 2016, when two longtime friends finally realized their
dream of owning an independent community pharmacy; it was certainly not
without years of planning, plenty of sacrifices, and an immense amount
of unforeseen challenges; the arduous struggle confirmed the value of
this endeavor; and

WHEREAS, Owners of Clarence Pharmacy, Kevin Clary and Jon Vorreuter,
first met on move in day at Albany College of Pharmacy in the Fall of
1988, while playing hackysack with a group of freshmen; and

WHEREAS, On that day, it became readily apparent these two pharmacy
students were going to become friends, however, no one could predict
that 30 years later they would be the best of friends, in addition to 20
years as brothers-in-law, and now three years as successful business
partners; and

WHEREAS, Today, Clarence Pharmacy remains the only locally owned and
operated independent pharmacy in the area and offers free delivery seven
days a week; and

WHEREAS, The success of Clarence Pharmacy is in direct correlation
to the efforts of its dedicated owners, Kevin and Jon, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the business and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local
and state economies, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of
life in its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy
the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be
it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Clarence Pharmacy upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award by the Clarence
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kevin Clary and Jon Vorreuter, Owners, Clarence Pharmacy.
