HONORING Gia Moron upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by Emmanuel
Baptist Church on February 28, 2020
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gia Moron
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by Emmanuel
Baptist Church to be celebrated at its 5th Annual "EBC Honors: Coming to
EBC" on Friday, February 28, 2020, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Gia Moron has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, Gia Moron serves as President of Women Grow, LLC, where her
leadership oversees the organizational structure and operations of the
corporate entity and headquarters; equally, she leverages her 25 plus
years of experience in public relations, branding and business
development in the oversight of the company's day-to-day operations; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Gia Moron, works with the CEO on national and
global business and relationship development opportunities; she began
working with Women Grow headquarters in January 2017 as Director of
Communications, after transitioning from the Women Grow New York City
market in 2016; and
WHEREAS, Gia Moron is also the Founder and CEO of GVM
Communications, Inc., a public relations, brand and business development
consulting firm launched in 2012; GVM engages a team of consultants and
freelancers demonstrating talents and skills in an array of industries:
Arts, Education, Financial Services, Diversity & Inclusion, Publishing,
Sports & Entertainment, Technology, and Wellness; and
WHEREAS, Prior to launching her firm and working with Women Grow,
Gia Moron was a Media Relations Officer in the Corporate Communications
department for 15 years at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.; before joining
Goldman Sachs, she served as Director of Promotions and Publicity for
six years at the Fremantle Corporation, an international television
distribution and production company; and
WHEREAS, Gia Moron is a celebrated community leader and board member
of many community organizations, including Minorities for Medical
Marijuana (M4MM), Start for SMART Coalition and founder of The New York
Cannabis & Hemp Trade Association; she also mentors enterprising young
women entrepreneurs across the country and intercontinentally in
countries like South Africa; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Gia Moron has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Gia Moron, that future generations may know and appreciate her admirable
character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and esteem in
which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gia Moron upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by Emmanuel Baptist Church; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gia Moron.
