HONORING Dr. Chantal Santos upon the occasion of
being named Professional of the Year by the Merrick
Chamber of Commerce on January 23, 2020

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dr. Chantel Santos upon the occasion of being named Professional of the
Year by the Merrick Chamber of Commerce which was celebrated at its
Annual Installation and Awards Dinner on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at
the Chateau Briand, Carle Place, New York; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Chantal Santos is being recognized with this auspicious
award for her many accomplishments in making a difference in her
community, as well as for her kindness, support, and generosity; and

WHEREAS, After receiving her degree in biology from Adelphi
University in 2008, Chantal Santos moved to Port Orange, Florida, where
she graduated with her Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of
Chiropractic in 2013; and

WHEREAS, A certified Graston Technique provider, Dr. Chantal Santos
uses various techniques such as activator adjusting, diversified, drop
table (Thompson), and flexion and distraction to restore the body's
natural mobility and balance; she focuses on each and every one of her
patients as a whole, and truly believes the crucial nature of properly
functioning musculoskeletal, nervous, and immune systems leads to
optimal health; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Chantal Santos helps her patients achieve this goal by
emphasizing patient education, giving her patients the confidence and
knowledge necessary to take an active part in their recovery to optimum
health and injury prevention; this approach applies a combination of
modalites, including cold laser, myofascial release, deep muscle
stretching and trigger point therapy as well as chiropractic
manipulation to help the nervous system function at its optimal
potential; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Chantal Santos is an active member of the New York
Chiropractic Association (NYSCA) and has volunteered her time and
energies at various health fairs and events such as the Merrick Street
Fair, CSEA health fairs and Golf Outings, as well as health fairs for
Nassau Community Medical Center and NYU Winthrop Hospital; and

WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of her duties and
responsibilities, Dr. Chantal Santos' ongoing efforts and her notable
achievements have significantly contributed to bettering the quality of
life in her community; and


WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Dr. Chantal Santos has served her
patients with compassion and care; she has contributed to the
maintenance and enhancement of the highest professional standards,
sharing with others her knowledge and expertise, as well as her
dedication and commitment to quality health care; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Chantal Santos upon the occasion of being named Professional
of the Year by the Merrick Chamber of Commerce on January 23, 2020; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Chantal Santos.
