COMMENDING outgoing Chief Tim Stellato upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition
after 31 years of dedicated service to Carle Place
Hook, Ladder and Hose Company No. 1

WHEREAS, Citizens across our State and Nation are inspired by and
indebted to our noble volunteer firefighters who exhibit courage and
bravery every day in the course of their duties; and

WHEREAS, Volunteer Firefighters exemplify the power of human
compassion and the strength of the American spirit through actions of
the most heroic magnitude; their sacrifices and their selfless
dedication merit tribute and recognition by all citizens of this great
country; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend outgoing
Chief Tim Stellato upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition after 31 years of dedicated service to Carle Place Hook,
Ladder and Hose Company No. 1 to be celebrated at its Annual Inspection
and Installation Dinner on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Carltun at
Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, New York; and

WHEREAS, Ever since he was a young boy, Tim Stellato knew he would
follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather who were
well-respected leaders in the Carle Place Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Tim Stellato joined the Carle Place Fire Department in
1989; throughout his 31 years of service, he has held several positions
within the Department including: Chairman of the Board of Trustees,
President, Lieutenant, Captain, and Chief, the position from which he
stepped down in 2019 after two years of service; and

WHEREAS, For the last 10 years, outgoing Chief Tim Stellato has also
held the title of President of the Carle Place Exempt Firemen's
Benevolent Association, and has been a member of the Carle Place Frogs
Drill Team for over two decades; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his work with the Department, Tim Stellato
served as the Commissioner of the Carle Place Water District in 2006,
and currently, holds the position of Chairman of its Board of Directors;
and

WHEREAS, When he is not working, Tim Stellato enjoys spending time
with his beloved family, and can often be found on the field as a coach
for both the Carle Place Little League and Youth Flag Football League;
and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Wendy, and their
two children, Kate and Devin, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, Firefighters unwaveringly serve our great State with pride,
valor, and integrity; these respected volunteers are often the first to

respond to an emergency, whether the emergency is a fire, transportation
accident, natural disaster, act of terrorism, medical crisis, or spill
of hazardous materials; and

WHEREAS, It takes a special dedication, a strong desire to help
others and a tireless sense of community to forsake precious time with
family and friends to respond to the signal that a neighbor is in need;
outgoing Chief Tim Stellato is one such firefighter; throughout 31 years
of devoted service, this volunteer heroically performed, above and
beyond the call of duty, those responsibilities which define the task of
fire protection; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend outgoing Chief Tim Stellato upon the occasion of his designation
for special recognition after 31 years of dedicated service to Carle
Place Hook, Ladder and Hose Company No. 1; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to outgoing Chief Tim Stellato.
