LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Project Hope
Charities upon the occasion of hosting its
Appreciation Ceremony on April 4, 2020, and honoring
its President and CEO Dr. Chu for his distinguished
service

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Project Hope Charities upon the occasion of hosting its
Appreciation Ceremony on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at The Inn in New Hyde
Park, New York; and

WHEREAS, During this auspicious event, President and CEO Dr. Chu
will be honored for his steadfast and unremitting commitment to his
community, and for exemplifying the mission of Project Hope Charities,
Touching Lives and Impacting the World; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2007, Project Hope Charities (PHC), is a New
York State nonprofit, humanitarian and community-based organization with
a long history of empowering economically, medically and educationally
underserved communities; and

WHEREAS, With its steadfast volunteers as role models, PHC has
worked to establish a safe and supportive environment for appropriately
structured activities which positively engage underserved communities to
develop skills and become self-sufficient, healthy, caring and
responsible individuals within their communities; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, PHC has been dedicated to working with
children, youth and families in New York City by empowering them to
reach their full potential by tackling the causes of hunger, poverty,
diseases, education and natural disasters; and

WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Dr. Chu, PHC offers
services such as Youth Empowerment Rehabilitation, Education and
Vocational Training, Health Education and GED Tutorials, Counseling and
Mentoring Services, as well as Hunger and Poverty Education and Disaster
Relief Assistance; and

WHEREAS, Born out of a passion to eradicate hunger, poverty, and
bridge the gap, PHC truly transforms the lives of people in underserved
communities by providing to those who have a great need for ongoing
support through difficult circumstances; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are

brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Project Hope Charities upon the occasion of hosting its
Appreciation Ceremony on April 4, 2020, and to honor its President and
CEO Dr. Chu for his distinguished service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Chu, President and CEO, Project Hope Charities.
