COMMENDING Ward D. Todd upon the occasion of being
inducted into the 2020 SUNY New Paltz School of
Business Hall of Fame as recipient of the Dean's
Award of Excellence

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Ward D. Todd upon the occasion of being inducted into the 2020
SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame as recipient of the
Dean's Award of Excellence, to be celebrated with an Induction Ceremony
on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at the Grandview, Poughkeepsie, New York;
and

WHEREAS, Ward D. Todd currently serves as President/CEO of the
Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the region's largest
business-advocacy organization with over 1,000 members employing more
than 20,000 local workers; and

WHEREAS, Prior to this esteemed position, Ward D. Todd was a member
of the Ulster County Legislature where he served seven years, including
three years as Chairman (2001-03) and three years as Majority Leader
(1998-2000); and

WHEREAS, Ward D. Todd also served six years on the Kingston School
Board of Education, including three years as President, and was a member
of the Onteora School Board as well as President of the Children's Annex
Board of Trustees; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
community, Ward D. Todd is Secretary of the Ulster County Economic
Development Alliance (UCEDA), Treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce
Alliance of New York State (CANYS), and Trustee of the Memorial United
Methodist Church of Shandaken; and

WHEREAS, A Board Member and Secretary of the Sound of Life Radio
Network, Ward D. Todd is a familiar voice to radio listeners in the
Hudson Valley; he was a Morning Program Host and Operations Manager at
WKNY in Kingston, and held on-air positions at WBAZ, Kingston, WROW,
Albany and WRKL, Rockland County; he was also Chief Staff Announcer at
WRNN-TV; and

WHEREAS, Ward D. Todd and his wife Jane live in Shandaken, New York,
in the Catskill Mountains; they are the proud parents of Jennifer,
Peter, Michael and Philippe and the loving grandparents of 11
grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Ward D. Todd upon the occasion of being inducted into the 2020
SUNY New Paltz School of Business Hall of Fame as recipient of the
Dean's Award of Excellence; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ward D. Todd.
