COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of The Hagedorn
Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for Special
Children on March 28, 2020
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary organizations it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The Hagedorn Little Village School,
Jack Joel Center for Special Children, to be celebrated at its Golden
Rule Gala on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Heritage Club at Bethpage,
Farmingdale, New York; and
WHEREAS, With limited facilities in Nassau County for preschoolers
with disabilities, The Hagedorn Little Village School was established in
October of 1969, inspired by the opportunity to build something with the
potential for a deep impact on the lives of countless vulnerable
children; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception, The Hagedorn Little Village School
continues to fulfill its mission to provide the finest educational and
therapeutic programs to infants, preschoolers and elementary school
children with a wide range of developmental delays and disabilities; and
WHEREAS, For five decades, The Hagedorn Little Village School has
been striving to help each child to achieve their highest potential
educationally, emotionally and socially by creating a nurturing
environment for each child and their families; and
WHEREAS, The success of The Hagedorn Little Village School is in
direct correlation to the efforts of its dedicated staff, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the
children it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to extend its
highest commendation to all of the individuals who have been involved
with The Hagedorn Little Village School past and present, noting the
importance of their work and their enduring commitment to young
children; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The Hagedorn Little Village School,
Jack Joel Center for Special Children on March 28, 2020; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Hagedorn Little Village School, Jack Joel Center for
Special Children.
