COMMENDING the Neighborhood Technical Assistance
Clinic of Brooklyn, New York, upon the occasion of
hosting its 13th Annual Gala on June 9, 2020

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations devoted to the welfare of the community and its citizenry;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic of Brooklyn, New
York, upon the occasion of hosting its 13th Annual Gala, A Salute to New
York City's Nonprofits and the Neighborhoods They Serve, to be
celebrated Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at Giando on the Water, Brooklyn, New
York; and

WHEREAS, The Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic (NTAC) is a
strategic partner and advisor to philanthropists, foundations,
government and political entities, public institutions, grassroots
nonprofit organizations, and faith-based institutions wishing to improve
their programs and organizational effectiveness in addressing the needs
of low-income and service-starved communities; and

WHEREAS, NTAC is under the able leadership of President and CEO,
Reverend Dr. Valerie Oliver-Durrah; for over 20 years, this esteemed
organization has given focus to grassroots and community-centered
non-profit endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, NTAC has built a portfolio of experience and
best practices, and has customized trainings and hands-on guidance
designed to build the capacity of volunteers, staff, management and
board level nonprofit practitioners; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention
to organizations such as NTAC, which serve to bring community and
philanthropy together for the united purpose of actively pursuing
improvements in their communities; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commending the Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic of Brooklyn, New
York, upon the occasion of hosting its 13th Annual Gala on June 9, 2020;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to President and CEO, Reverend Dr. Valerie Oliver-Durrah,
Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic, Brooklyn, New York.
