COMMENDING The Honorable Annette Marie Robinson
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Neighborhood
Technical Assistance Clinic on June 9, 2020

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Annette Marie Robinson has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend The
Honorable Annette Marie Robinson upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Neighborhood
Technical Assistance Clinic to be celebrated at its 13th Annual Gala, A
Salute to New York City's Nonprofits and the Neighborhoods They Serve,
on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at Giando on the Water, Brooklyn, New York;
and

WHEREAS, The Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic (NTAC) is a
strategic partner and advisor to philanthropists, foundations,
government and political entities, public institutions, grassroots
nonprofit organizations, and faith-based institutions wishing to improve
their programs and organizational effectiveness in addressing the needs
of low-income and service-starved communities; and

WHEREAS, Born in Harlem and raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn,
Annette Marie Robinson began her illustrious career in public service at
Community School Board District 16 in 1977; she went on to work for
former New York City Comptroller Harrison J. Goldin, and United States
Congressman Major R. Owens before her election to the City Council
representing Bedford-Stuyvesant in 1992; and

WHEREAS, A true pillar of her community, Annette Marie Robinson
became a New York State Assemblywoman in 2001; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her husband of more than 50 years, the late
William Robinson, with her throughout have been her six children as well
as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her many
achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Annette Marie Robinson has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The Honorable Annette Marie Robinson upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the
Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Annette Marie Robinson.
