COMMENDING Reverend Dr. Kevin McCall upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Faith Leader Award by the Neighborhood Technical
Assistance Clinic on June 9, 2020
WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life
in this noble Empire State is nourished and fulfilled through the
faithful concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their
energies and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish
themselves and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and
preeminence of service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Reverend
Dr. Kevin McCall upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Faith Leader Award by the Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic
to be celebrated at its 13th Annual Gala, A Salute to New York City's
Nonprofits and the Neighborhoods They Serve, on Tuesday, June 9, 2020,
at Giando on the Water, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic (NTAC) is a
strategic partner and advisor to philanthropists, foundations,
government and political entities, public institutions, grassroots
nonprofit organizations, and faith-based institutions wishing to improve
their programs and organizational effectiveness in addressing the needs
of low-income and service-starved communities; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Kevin McCall began preaching at the age of 14
and was ordained as a Minister at the age of 15, under the leadership of
Pastor Jerry McCall; by the time he was 22 years-old, he was ordained as
an Elder, under the leadership of Apostle William Harrell; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished man of God obtained a degree in Theology
from Pillar College, located in New Jersey, and earned an Honorary
Doctorate degree in Social Justice Education from Anointed By God
Seminary; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Kevin McCall has had the esteemed privilege to
work as the National Coordinator for "National Day of Prayer" for the
office of the Whitehouse Faith Based Initiatives, under President Barack
Obama; and
WHEREAS, He also served as The National Crisis Director for the
National Action Network, under the Leadership of Civil Rights Activist,
Reverend Al Sharpton; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, he is the Founder of The Crisis Action Center,
the only food kitchen pantry open seven days a week in New York City,
and is located in Brooklyn; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Reverend Dr. Kevin McCall has
displayed throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Reverend Dr. Kevin McCall upon the occasion of his designation
as recipient of the Faith Leader Award by the Neighborhood Technical
Assistance Clinic; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Reverend Dr. Kevin McCall.
