HONORING William (Henry) Lutz upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2019 Outstanding
Contribution by a Senior Citizen Award by the St.
Lawrence County Office for the Aging

WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge
to the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their
past contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and
valuable asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
William (Henry) Lutz upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2019 Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen Award by the
St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging; and

WHEREAS, A man of singular distinction, Henry Lutz has continually
demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent
leadership in his unwavering service to his community and, consequently,
has been selected for this most prestigious honor; and

WHEREAS, Henry Lutz has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Henry Lutz's compassion for the elderly was first noted
when he was a junior in high school, the year he began to care for his
grandmother; he moved in with her to give her company and take care of
her, he even made improvements to her house to make her life easier;
that compassion stayed with him his whole life and today, he is 83
years-old; and

WHEREAS, For many of his earlier years, Henry Lutz worked for EJ
Noble Hospital, in charge of maintenance; as Supervisor for the Town of
Fowler for several years; and head maintenance at Pine Grove Apartments;
when needed, he continued to help at Pine Grove Apartments even after he
resigned; and

WHEREAS, In addition to working his regular job, for more than 30
years Henry Lutz installed bathrooms in homes of many senior citizens
and only accepted money to cover the cost of the materials he needed;
furthermore, if someone needed a furnace fixed, he was quick to respond;
and

WHEREAS, Henry Lutz is described by his peers as a compassionate and
caring person who never complains, and has an "I can do" attitude; he
takes the initiative of getting things done without hesitation, and is
always there to help, all one must do is ask; and

WHEREAS, A humble individual and a natural caregiver, this kind,
generous and compassionate man truly believes the world needs more
people helping others, and he has lived his life accordingly, dedicated
to others; and


WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor William (Henry) Lutz upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2019 Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen Award
by the St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to William (Henry) Lutz.
