CONGRATULATING Robert Siemann, Jr. upon the
occasion of receiving the distinguished rank of
Eagle Scout, the most prestigious of Scouting honors
WHEREAS, Robert Siemann, Jr., through his diligence and rigorous
efforts, has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank,
Eagle Scout; an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held in
recognition of his latest accomplishment; and
WHEREAS, Robert Siemann, Jr. is a member of Boy Scouts of America
Troop 45, Mineola, New York; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to
the development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation;
and
WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned
by approximately five percent of all Boy Scouts, is the distinguished
rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Scouting has always been in Robert Siemann, Jr.'s family;
his uncle and four of his cousins are Eagle Scouts; and
WHEREAS, During his time in scouting, Robert Siemann, Jr. has held
positions of leadership within Troop 45, including Librarian and
Historian; and
WHEREAS, Outside of scouting, Robert Siemann, Jr.'s leadership
position has included being elected to serve as Lieutenant of the
Mineola Junior Fire Department; growing up, he had heard stories from
his uncle and cousins about their trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New
Mexico; after hearing about their adventures, he was excited to be going
himself; and
WHEREAS, Robert Siemann, Jr. prepared to go to Philmont and trained
for over a year to be ready for the trip; this training included hiking
many miles, and many camping trips; unfortunately, the trip was canceled
due to a wildfire at the Ranch; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has been involved in Scouting
for many years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals, and has attained all
the necessary achievements, including completion of a community service
project, which was successfully planned, developed and executed; and
WHEREAS, Robert Siemann, Jr.'s Eagle Project was a memorial to honor
all past, present, and future First Responders; this memorial was placed
at the Albertson Fire House, and consists of a statue, handmade bench,
personalized engraved bricks, trees and plants; funds for the project
were raised from a car wash and the sale of personalized engraved
bricks; and
WHEREAS, A dedication ceremony was held and was well attended by
fellow First Responders, Scouts, and family members; and
WHEREAS, The idea for the project came from Robert Siemann, Jr.
growing up around the firehouse; his father is an Ex-Chief, Firefighter,
and Paramedic in the Albertson Fire Company; Robert was a Junior Fire
fighter in the Mineola Junior Fire Department, and is currently an
active volunteer firefighter in the Albertson Fire Company; and
WHEREAS, His dedication to the safety and well-being of the citizens
of Mineola is represented through his project and demonstrates his
devotion to both community and commitment to others; and
WHEREAS, Robert Siemann, Jr.'s perseverance in rising through the
ranks to Eagle Scout is a strong indication of his ability to master
difficult tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a
leader, fully equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex
society; and
WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Robert Siemann, Jr. on achieving the rank of
Eagle Scout; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Robert Siemann, Jr.
