HONORING Earl A. Zimmerman, MD upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the 2020 Third
Age Achievement Award for Medicine by LifePath

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Earl A.
Zimmerman, MD upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Third Age Achievement Award for Medicine by LifePath which was
celebrated at its 24th Annual Awards Ceremony on Friday, September 25,
2020; and

WHEREAS, Each year, this auspicious event recognizes the
contributions area residents and professionals have made in their
communities during the Third Age, after turning 60 years-old, of their
lives; Dr. Earl A. Zimmerman is truly deserving of this prestigious
award; and

WHEREAS, LifePath is dedicated to keeping older neighbors and
friends healthy and safe by providing effective programs and support to
help them stay connected to their communities; and

WHEREAS, For more than 57 years, Dr. Earl A. Zimmerman has been a
distinguished member of the medical profession, specializing in
behavioral neurology, specifically memory loss, confusional states,
Alzheimer's disease, other dementias, and neurodegenerative diseases; he
has a unique ability to comprehensively diagnose, treat, and manage
these conditions; and

WHEREAS, Currently, Dr. Earl A. Zimmerman is a Professor of
Neurology at the Albany Medical College and the Director of the
Alzheimer's Center at Albany Medical Center, which he founded in 2002;
and

WHEREAS, As a leader in his profession, Dr. Earl A. Zimmerman has
proven himself to be a great asset to medicine and to the health and
welfare of the citizens of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Earl A. Zimmerman, MD upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the 2020 Third Age Achievement Award for Medicine by
LifePath; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Earl A. Zimmerman, MD.
