HONORING Syola Ince Lewis upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Dinner
Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards Ceremony
on March 9, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Syola Ince Lewis upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Dinner Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards
Ceremony on March 9, 2019, at Weeksville Heritage Center, Brooklyn, New
York; and

WHEREAS, The Dinner Table Doc's Eighteen Under 18 Awards Ceremony
was created to shine a light on students who are creating change in
their communities; unlike other awards ceremonies, the conversation will
lead a call to action for young women in the audience to participate by
pitching their own community centered initiatives; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Fort Hamilton High School, Syola Ince Lewis is
a truly remarkable student; through her current enrollment in two AP
classes, as well as a College Now course, she has already earned 50
credits towards her college diploma; and

WHEREAS, As a member of the school's Mixed Choir, Syola Ince Lewis
has led her section with multiple solos; she is also an integral member
of the Varsity Soccer Team; and

WHEREAS, With a true passion for helping others, Syola Ince Lewis
plans to pursue a degree in psychology or political science; and

WHEREAS, Syola Ince Lewis has distinguished herself as a young woman
of superlative ability, establishing a high standard of excellence and
purposefulness of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Syola Ince Lewis represents the best development of the potential which
is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Syola Ince Lewis upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Dinner Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards
Ceremony on March 9, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Syola Ince Lewis.
