HONORING Amina Savane upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Dinner
Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards Ceremony
on March 9, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Amina Savane upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Dinner Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards
Ceremony on March 9, 2019, at Weeksville Heritage Center, Brooklyn, New
York; and

WHEREAS, The Dinner Table Doc's Eighteen Under 18 Awards Ceremony
was created to shine a light on students who are creating change in
their communities; unlike other awards ceremonies, the conversation will
lead a call to action for young women in the audience to participate by
pitching their own community centered initiatives; and

WHEREAS, Amina Savane is a truly talented student who commands the
room with her quick, witty personality and her dominating opinion; she
understands the power of her voice and loves to challenge those around
her regardless of age, gender or credibility; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary young women always stands up for what
she believes in, and is extremely passionate about issues which plague
the black community; and

WHEREAS, A leader in her own right, Amina Savane aspires to be an
entrepreneur or a lawyer; and

WHEREAS, Amina Savane has distinguished herself as a young woman of
superlative ability, establishing a high standard of excellence and
purposefulness of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Amina Savane represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Amina Savane upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Dinner Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards
Ceremony on March 9, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Amina Savane.
