HONORING Tamani Manley upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Dinner
Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards Ceremony
on March 9, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the youth
of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Tamani Manley upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Dinner Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards
Ceremony on March 9, 2019, at Weeksville Heritage Center, Brooklyn, New
York; and

WHEREAS, The Dinner Table Doc's Eighteen Under 18 Awards Ceremony
was created to shine a light on students who are creating change in
their communities; unlike other awards ceremonies, the conversation will
lead a call to action for young women in the audience to participate by
pitching their own community centered initiatives; and

WHEREAS, A high school senior, Tamani Manley is a truly remarkable
student, receiving consistent Honor Roll accolades through the years;
she was named Student of the Month and is a BottomLine college bound
member; and

WHEREAS, Tamani Manley's passion for equality and creative
expression has sustained her for more than six years as a key cast
member of the world renowned MAAFA production; she is also a member of
Restorative Justice, Lioness Den and Cheerleading; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to helping
others, Tamani Manley has given of her time and energies as coordinator
to gracious prom giveaways, helping young ladies on their special day at
absolutely no cost to their families; and

WHEREAS, Tamani Manley has distinguished herself as a young woman of
superlative ability, establishing a high standard of excellence and
purposefulness of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Tamani Manley represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Tamani Manley upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Dinner Table Doc at its Eighteen Under 18 Awards
Ceremony on March 9, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Tamani Manley.
