COMMENDING Seven Roses Legacy Foundation upon the
occasion of hosting its Golden Mother's Day
Scholarship Jazz Brunch on May 11, 2019

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Seven
Roses Legacy Foundation, in conjunction with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority,
Inc. and Eta Nu Sigma Chapter Brooklyn & Queens, New York Alumnae upon
the occasion of hosting its Golden Mother's Day Scholarship Jazz Brunch
on May 11, 2019, at Antun's in Queens Village, New York; and

WHEREAS, This year's theme, "400 Years: The African Diaspora"
celebrates Motherhood, Scholarship and Service; and

WHEREAS, The Golden Mother's Day Scholarship Jazz Brunch provides
individuals an opportunity to recognize their matriarchs, their
community, their 2019 scholarship recipients, and to raise additional
contributions that will benefit future scholarship recipients and youth
empowerment programs; and

WHEREAS, The Seven Roses Legacy Foundation (SRLF) helps students
from Brooklyn and Queens pursue higher education opportunities and
expand their cultural and social horizons; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
organizations which enhance the well-being and vitality of their
community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence
certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Seven Roses Legacy Foundation upon the occasion of hosting its
Golden Mother's Day Scholarship Jazz Brunch on May 11, 2019; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Seven Roses Legacy Foundation.
