COMMENDING the Schechter School of Long Island
upon the occasion of hosting its 2019 Annual Dinner
Gala "Spotlight on Schechter" on March 28, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend institutions of true purpose and high achievement whose
exemplary programs and accomplishments clearly demonstrate the pursuit
of excellence in education and service to the community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Schechter School of Long Island upon the occasion of hosting
its 2019 Annual Dinner Gala "Spotlight on Schechter" to be celebrated on
Thursday, March 28, 2019; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion will shine the light on the
excellence and diversity of programs offered at the Schechter School of
Long Island's Lower School Campus in Jericho, New York, and its Upper
School Campus in Williston Park, New York; the community which makes up
the Schechter family; and the Jewish values instilled in its students;
and

WHEREAS, The Schechter School of Long Island (SSLI) is a Jewish day
school whose dual curriculum of excellence educates and empowers its
students to be critical thinkers, ethical leaders, and globally engaged
citizens, striving to achieve their full potential and ensuring a
vibrant Jewish future; and

WHEREAS, Each and every student's unique potential and strengths are
nurtured and celebrated, guiding them towards achieving their personal
goals; students at the SSLI are taught six core values, Torah, Ahavat
Yisrael, Kehila, Mitzvot, Tefillah and Gemilut Chasadim which will guide
them through every stage of life; and

WHEREAS, Under the able guidance of a dedicated faculty member and
many volunteers, the drama program at the SSLI diligently works to
cultivate the collaborative and creative potential in its students by
giving them the opportunity to try new pursuits, hone their skills, take
risks and explore a variety of roles behind or in front of the curtain;
and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Schechter School of Long Island
has demonstrated an impressive dedication, an unparalleled commitment,
and an unremitting enthusiasm for the quality of the educational
programs and opportunities offered for the benefit of its students,
teachers, parents, alumni, and community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Schechter School of Long Island upon the occasion of hosting
its 2019 Annual Dinner Gala "Spotlight on Schechter" on March 28, 2019;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Schechter School of Long Island.
