COMMENDING AHRC New York City upon the occasion of
hosting its Annual Dinner, celebrating 70 years of
realizing potential on April 13, 2019

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that the quality
and character of life in this great Empire State is greatly enriched by
the faithful and diligent work of those organizations which serve to
meet the special needs of the community and it citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend AHRC New York City upon the occasion of hosting its Annual
Dinner, celebrating 70 years of realizing potential on Saturday, April
13, 2019, in The Grand Ballroom at The Grand Hyatt New York; and

WHEREAS, AHRC New York City is a family governed organization
committed to finding ways for people with intellectual and other
developmental disabilities to build full lives as defined by each person
and supported by dedicated families, staff and community partners; and

WHEREAS, Each year, AHRC New York City touches the lives of over
15,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
throughout the five boroughs with a wide range of programs, services and
supports tailored to meet their specific needs; and

WHEREAS, Today, with a membership comprised of thousands of
individuals, primarily persons with intellectual and developmental
disabilities, their families, friends and professionals in the field,
AHRC New York City is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the
city; and

WHEREAS, The success of AHRC New York City is in direct correlation
to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
organizations which unselfishly devote their energy, talent and
thoughtful care on behalf of improving the quality and dignity of life
in the community, are worthy and due full praise and recognition for
their noble and dedicated efforts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend AHRC New York City upon the occasion of hosting its Annual
Dinner, celebrating 70 years of realizing potential on April 13, 2019;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to AHRC New York City.
