MOURNING the death of John Cermanski, loving
husband and father, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow that this Legislative Body,
representing the people of the State of New York, is moved this day to
pay tribute to an eminent man of indomitable faith and dedication whose
public service and accomplishments will forever stand as a paradigm and
inspiration for others; and

WHEREAS, John Cermanski of Pelham Manor, New York, passed away on
Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the age of 72; and

WHEREAS, The son of John and Nancy (Ann) Cermanski, John Cermanski
was raised in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, where he attended St.
Gertude Catholic Elementary School and Upper Merion High School; during
this time he was a Boy Scout and an undefeated wrestler; and

WHEREAS, John Cermanski went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in
Political Science from Bloomsburg University; and

WHEREAS, Upon the completion of his studies, John Cermanski worked
as a Sales Representative for various tool companies, during which time
he met the love of his life in Long Island; and

WHEREAS, John Cermanski and the former Ella Schulz were united in
marriage at St. John of God Roman Catholic Church in Central Islip, New
York; the couple lived in New Rochelle before moving to Pelham Manor in
1980; and

WHEREAS, In 1993, John Cermanski began his illustrious career with
Marine & Industrial Hydraulics, Inc. / Trident Actuators, where he
climbed the ranks to become General Manager of the company; and

WHEREAS, For 26 years, John Cermanski rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to his profession, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
community, John Cermanski was a member of the Pelham Manor Volunteer
Fire Department, the Pelham Civics and the Men's Club in Pelham; in
addition, he served as a volunteer coach for both Pelham Little League
and Huguenot Hoops; and

WHEREAS, Predeceased by his parents, John and Nancy; a brother,
Michael; and sister, Patricia, John Cermanski is survived by his wife of
44 years, Ella; two children, John and Molly; siblings, Kathi, Robert
and David; and his beloved Maltese, Abby; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, John Cermanski leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of John Cermanski, loving husband and father,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of John Cermanski.
