COMMENDING the SUNY New Paltz Men's Cross Country
Team upon the occasion of their selection as a
member of the 2019 U.S. Track and Field and Cross
Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic
Team

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes pleasure in honoring talented
collegiate athletes who distinguish themselves and their community
through outstanding academic and athletic performance; and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical
development of the young adults of this State, preparing them for the
future by instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a
standard of healthy living, imparting a desire for success and
developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the SUNY
New Paltz Men's Cross Country Team upon the occasion of their selection
as a member of the 2019 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team; and

WHEREAS, The SUNY New Paltz Men's Cross Country Team completed their
outstanding season with a program-best 15th overall finish at the
Atlantic Regional Meet; in addition, the Hawks proudly recorded a
cumulative 3.4 average; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, the members of the SUNY New
Paltz Men's Cross Country Team have distinguished themselves as young
men of superlative ability, talent, and maturity, establishing standards
of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of life, and
responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, Outstanding role models for their fellow students, the SUNY
New Paltz Men's Cross Country Team has brought honor to their family,
school, and community; and

WHEREAS, The SUNY New Paltz Men's Cross Country Team may stand with
pride in their achievements, experiencing the satisfaction of their
labors and the joy of their accomplishments, eager to face the challenge
of new experiences as they continue their education; and

WHEREAS, The SUNY New Paltz Men's Cross Country Team represents the
potential inherent in our most precious resource, our young adults; this
Legislative Body is pleased to honor these young men, recognizing their
achievements and the promise of their future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the SUNY New Paltz Men's Cross Country Team upon the occasion of
their selection as a member of the 2019 U.S. Track and Field and Cross
Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the SUNY New Paltz Men's Cross Country Team.
