HONORING Allen C. Small, MD, FACP upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition
by the Medical Society of the County of Queens Inc.
and the Academy of Medicine Queens County on May 13,
2019

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the diligence and compassionate commitment of those
individuals whose singular purpose is the care and welfare of others;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Allen C. Small, MD, FACP upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Medical Society of the County of Queens Inc.
and the Academy of Medicine Queens County to be celebrated at its 212th
Annual Dinner & President's Recognition Day on Monday, May 13, 2019, at
Russo's On The Bay, Howard Beach, New York; and

WHEREAS, Allen C. Small attended Brown University and Brown
University Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island, where he received
his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976, and his Medical degree in 1979; he
went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital
in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious medical career, Dr. Allen C.
Small has worked as a Board-Certified Internist in such diverse
communities as Flushing, Corona, Forest Hills, and Richmond Hill; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Allen C. Small has also served as an Attending or
Clinical Instructor at LIJ Forest Hills, Syosset Hospital, and Elmhurst
Hospitals, as part of the Queens Long Island Medical Group, the New York
Diagnostic and Medical Center, and Employee Wellness; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Allen C. Small was invited to participate in the
Breakout sessions of the 10th Annual C5 Colon Cancer Summit with the New
York City Department of Health and local Medical Centers, as well as
regional Leadership Summits with the National Hispanic Medical
Association on Cardiovascular Disease and Obesity; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
profession, Dr. Allen C. Small is a regular attendee at IPRO, NYS Health
Foundation meetings, CMS Region 1 Summits & Innovation Days, NYe Health
Collaborative, and NYS mini-HIMSS conferences; and

WHEREAS, In addition, he is the Immediate Past President of the
Medical Society of the County of Queens and has been a member of the
MSSNY Interspecialty Committee and the Quality and Patient Safety
Committee; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Dr. Allen C. Small has
displayed throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, In the faithful performance of his duties and
responsibilities, Dr. Allen C. Small's ongoing efforts and notable
achievements have significantly contributed to bettering the quality of
life in his community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Allen C. Small, MD, FACP upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Medical Society of the County of Queens Inc.
and the Academy of Medicine Queens County on May 13, 2019; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Allen C. Small, MD, FACP.
