HONORING Bob Stocking upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2018 Genesean of the
Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of individuals such as Bob Stocking who uphold the values of
community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize the best
of humanity; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Bob Stocking upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2018 Genesean of the Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of
Commerce to be celebrated at its 46th Annual Awards Ceremony on
Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Quality Inn & Suites in Batavia, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Bob Stocking has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to numerous civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, A true asset to his community, 83 year old Bob Stocking has
spent a lifetime steadfastly supporting countless individuals and
organizations throughout Genesee County; during the time he and his wife
owned a tack shop, the couple would often supply a 4-H rider with
accessories required to participate in the local fair; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, Bob Stocking donated several boxes of horse
trophies to be reused by the Genesee County Fair; and

WHEREAS, A lifetime member of the East Pembroke Fire Department, Bob
Stocking remains an active volunteer; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary man also serves as Chair of the annual
Bontrager's Auction Barn event, an old fashioned barn dance with
proceeds benefiting such vital non-profit organizations as Mercy Flight,
Genesee Cancer Assistance and Crossroads House; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Bob Stocking has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Donna, who has shown
him love and support and rejoices in his many achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Bob Stocking has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to

Bob Stocking, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bob Stocking upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2018 Genesean of the Year Award by the Genesee County Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Bob Stocking.
